Why Girls' Nights & Guys' Nights Are Good For a MarriageMara Kofoed
Too often, friends nights get pushed a side when married life sets in. Some people make it happen, but it seems it’s a challenge for many, especially when kids come along.
BUT, I *highly* recommend fitting in these evenings with your friends every once in awhile.
There is something really rejuvenating about taking a break from your routine. It’s also really wonderful to maintain your friendships. And when you return to your spouse, you just might be happy and excited to be with them again after a night apart.
My sister-in-laws are awesome at making girls’ nights happen. They meet with their girlfriends once a month and do all kinds of things: dinner nights, craft nights, gift exchanges for the holidays, movie nights, game nights, they even take turns helping each other with big home projects such as painting a room, redecorating a bedroom, making curtains, etc.! So cool, right?
In Brooklyn, our girls’ nights usually involve meeting at a place for dessert and chatting away.
What do you all do for your girls’ or guys’ nights? It would be awesome to have a nice list of ideas!
