Do you remember the hair clip craze that happened earlier this summer? Every mama and baby were rocking a pair, and I almost bit the bullet and jumped on board. The only thing standing between myself and the purchase button is the thought of being too in it. A few months later, I’m eating my words and purchasing a few clips for both myself and my daughter River to wear all fall and winter long!

Branch Out 4 of 11
All hair clips don't actually have to be felt or fabric for a baby to wear them. My daughter always did perfectly fine with bobby pins to pull back her crazy curls. I love how these bobby pins are accented with a gold branch. If your little one has a wild mane like mine, these might be perfect. Or if you are looking to try something a little different to hold back your bangs on a windy day, try these beauties.
The Head Piece 5 of 11
I remember that when I was planning River's newborn shoot a few years ago, that in the photographer's look book, every itty-bitty, tiny baby had a headband like the one above. Fast forward a few years later and a lot of my long-haired girlfriends share this headband with their little girls. It's an easy accent for simple look, mamas.
Rustic Leather 6 of 11
There is so much that you can do with faux leather and real leather; the possibilities are endless. Recently I've taken a liking to faux leather bows. In the winter, they somehow give my daughter's style a sense of "warmth." Especially when I use dark leather. For me, they are an easy, inexpensive, and chic way to pull back my curls. They don't draw too much attention, and sometimes that's best.
Wedding Appropriate 7 of 11
In the summer, River will be serving as a flower girl and I will be a bridesmaid in the same wedding. I can't help but think of how amazing this piece would look on us both. Summer, hurry on up!
Sticks and stones and bones? 8 of 11
Yes, bone hair clips! For these, it all depends on the color. For your little one, stick to something neon, like the yellow. For yourself, stick to something a bit more matte and easy on the eyes, like the blue all the way to the right.
Hair clips, bow ties… oh my! 9 of 11
We are happy owners of a few Wild Frays hair clips. The fantastic thing about these is they also serve as bow ties. My little girl has a few and somedays I might wear one as a clip and she'll wear it as a bow tie, or vice versa. The mixing and matching of it all is the BEST part.
Classic felt 10 of 11
These classic felt hair clips need no thought really. With the felt bow on the end of the clip, it's no fuss for kiddos. And with the simple and classic color palette, these make for the perfect clips for a date night or workday.
Like a River 11 of 11
So these hair clips are named after my daughter River. Hence, I may be a tiny bit biased. But these "River" bows are large and gorgeous! I love when River wears them - they just sit on the side of her head like a cupcake topping. The look reminds me of a '60s movie based on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. When I wear them, they are large enough not to get lost in my natural fro, which usually happens with clips.
