10 Gorgeous Looks for Your Emmy Red Carpet Debut

If I were going to the Emmys this Sunday, I would wear this …

Because it was fun, I couldn’t resist Photoshopping my head onto my dream dress by Marchesa and then right out onto the red carpet!

In all honesty, it would be quite a daunting task choosing an evening gown if I were attending the Emmys. There are so many variables to consider besides the weather, which is usually still very warm on the September red carpet in Los Angeles. Factor in what looks fresh and modern but also elegant and which silhouettes and colors look best to flatter your figure, and choosing a dress becomes a downright chore. Good thing we all don’t get invited.

I tend to fall for classic styles: black gowns, elegant beading, and lace. Luckily, because it’s fall and on-trend at the moment, these classic evening dresses are easy to find. Major color pops and bright florals are better left for springtime occasions like the Oscars, but fall colors are always acceptable and at the moment we’re seeing lots of reds, greens, and deep blues.

If this were real life, I’d have a budget in mind and a limit on what I could spend. This means I’d probably find a glorious vintage gown, alter it myself, and wear some of my grandma’s vintage jewelry and clutch bag, though I’d surely splurge on shoes. But since I’m not actually attending the Emmys this weekend, I didn’t cut ANY corners or costs when I curated these 10 gorgeous, fun, and inspiring looks to wear to an event such as the Emmys. Which one is your favorite? What would YOU wear if you were going to the Emmys this weekend?
