This summer, I swore myself to only one pair of cutoff shorts – the one pair I paid a good five dollars for in a random thrift store. Getting my shorts for so cheap at such a random moment made them perfect for me. All summer we’ve had a huge love affair. And despite the fact that I am looking forward to fall, I am not looking forward to letting go of my cutoffs!
In my usual manner of thinking everyone has the same dilemmas as I do, here are 10 ways you can wear your cutoffs this fall!

With a denim jacket and booties 2 of 11
An old heavy denim jacket makes everything much warmer.
When pairing a denim jacket with a pair of denim cutoff shorts, try and go to a darker denim for the jacket and a funky pair of boots. It makes the look a bit more edgy instead of straight up hipster.
With a cropped leather jacket 3 of 11
I feel like a cropped (faux) leather jacket will always be a fall staple. Pairing the cutoffs with a dark pair of tights and a leather jacket is a sure way to keep warm and look funky around town.
With high socks 4 of 11
I get it, knee-highs aren't for everyone. But with the right color and texture they can be the perfect match to help transform your shorts for the chillier weather.
With a chunky sweater 5 of 11
I have an indisputable love for chunky sweaters in the fall. They are always ridiculously comfy. If you decide to go with this look, you can try it with a beanie, with a scarf, or both depending on temperatures. If you want to pump up the look more, skip the flats and throw on a bright pair of heels.

Grunge is in! Plus, any excuse to wear my husband's clothing is a good enough excuse for me.
With a trench coat 7 of 11
I think mixing and matching summer and fall/winter pieces in fall is a must. As much as I try to wear warmer clothing, I try to incorporate summer garments too. Cutoffs, sandals, and a trench blend so well together and go from day to night in an instant.
With dark tights 8 of 11
You can wear cutoffs any day in the fall when you put on a pair of tights.
With a pullover sweater 9 of 11
This J.Crew pullover sweater paired with a button down is the perfect chilly weather attire.
With a black blazer 10 of 11
A blazer, more specifically a black one makes your cutoffs an instant fall piece.
