Yet another trend yanked from the 1980s! It first drew inspiration from the skirt silhouettes way back in the 1950s, and now tube skirts have made their way back onto the fashion scene. Last seen on Madonna and Kelly LeBrock in the movie Weird Science in the 80s, similar to pencil skirts, but generally manufactured in a stretchy fabric, lacking details like zippers, darts, or waistbands, tube skirts hug your curves all the way down to your the knees. Generally trendy styles at the moment come with a high waist and hit just below the knee or mid-calf, but tube skirts are also seen above the knee and as teeny tiny hip-hugging mini skirts as well.
Miley Cyrus has been rocking the cute style as of late with equally body conscious crop tops, but you can do it too! Since they’re not always the most flattering option, look for skirts with crazy prints to distract the eye and/or slimming prints with a front panel and contrasting panels down the sides. Worn with a cute peplum top or layered with a longer vest or cardigan as seen in my leopard print with stripes outfit are great ways to make this trend work for any body type.
