Trends are for anyone to take, decipher, and make their own. But combining them seems to be an overwhelming task. And truthfully, at times they do go horribly wrong. But (you knew there was a but) there are certain trends that do go amazingly well together. Trends that are complete head-scratchers, but on, they are a total win!
Here are 4 Unlikely and Lovely Trend Combinations!
Pretty Plaid 1 of 4
When some think of a plaid shirt... trend immediately pops up. I have to say, I am a huge fan. But I like to wear my plaid more on the girly side of the spectrum. A pleated leather skirt is also quite trendy and the two together are the perfect mix of androgynous chic.
Go Big or Go Home 2 of 4
When most people think of an army coat, they think of pairing it with skinny jeans, booties, or calf leg boots. But mixing this long-lasting trend item up with a pair of wide-legged jeans takes this look to the next level. The pairing is unlikely, but on, oh so lovely.
Dress It Up, Dress It Down 3 of 4
Right off the bat, I'll be honest and say I was never a fan of the high-low dress. And still, at the beginning of fall, I am kind of "eh" about it. But a lot of my good friends are all about it, so of course it deserves its own spot on the trend o'meter. If someone was to pair this high-low dress with this denim jacket only, it would be trendy...but not at all unlikely. Adding the hottest trend this fall -ankle buckle boots- would have some scratching their heads. And some would immediately jump for a cropped leather instead. But a denim keeps this look in our unlikely category, and it should stay there, and you should wear it, cuz it's pretty darn killer cute! Now I'm off to rethink my "eh" feeling of the high-low dress thanks to this.
Fancy Sneakers 4 of 4
Checked Trousers were all the rage at New York Fashion week, and who would've thought that New Balance sneakers would have their hand at it too. These three seem pretty darn good and trendy separately, but on-altogether, they create something comfortable and eye rolling cool.
