I am always on the lookout for style inspiration — from flipping through a magazine to the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy. I can get in a rut where I’m wearing the same things over and over or where I’m not wearing a piece simply because I’m unsure of how to style it. I look to these places because I want to stay hip to the current trends but even more so, I want to find outfit ideas and get motivated to try new trends.
Here are my 5 go-to places to find style inspiration:
Storefront Displays 1 of 5
The perfectly put together and accessorized outfits displayed at the front of stores are a great place to not only find inspiration but also see how to style pieces that you can get in the store that day! These outfits are curated by an in-store wardrobe stylist and you can trust that they are up on all the current trends. Don't just pass them by next time you're shopping — take notes!
Movies 2 of 5
Films and TV shows have a whole crew of people whose sole job is putting together outfits. They are an unexpected but fabulous place to find style inspiration. From period pieces to modern-day films, it's my best-kept secret for finding outfit ideas.
A Stylish Friend 3 of 5
This may seem obvious, but how often do we ask our stylish friends for a little help in the fashion department? If you have a friend whose style you are crazy about, ask questions. Where do they shop? How do they come up with outfits? What are their staple pieces? It's like having a free personal stylist but WAY better!

Fashion Blogs 4 of 5
Fashion blogs are one of my favorite ways to seek style inspiration. I love that I can see an outfit that I love in a post and get pieces from it when I'm out shopping the next day. They are down to earth, real, and — unlike magazines — the outfits are affordable! Two of my favorites are Kelly Murray and Skunkboy.
Pinterest 5 of 5
Pinterest has totally revolutionized how I keep track of fashion, bookmark favorite outfits, and keep all my inspiration in one place. If you don't have a board dedicated to fashion, you're missing out! If I'm ever trying to put together an outfit, I'll turn to Pinterest to see if anyone has worn something similar and see what pieces I should add or take away.
