My husband and I are both total wimps when it comes to the cold. He was born and raised in Hawaii and I’ve been in Arizona since 1999. We don’t handle temperatures below 70 all that well (as I type I’m bundled in a jacket, sweatpants, thick socks and a beanie. Because our house is currently 72 degrees). Out of the two of us, though, my husband is way more sensitive. He doesn’t have any insulation on his tall, thin frame so he owns a wide variety of long sleeved shirts and sweaters for layering. I always pick up one or two for him every year at Christmas to add to his collection (and, let’s be honest, so I can pick sweaters I might like to “borrow”). Here are 8 men’s sweaters I’m considering for my husband this year-
Warm AND Stylish! 1 of 9
Sean John Pullover 2 of 9
Love the asymmetrical details on this fleece pullover.
J Crew with Elbow Patches 3 of 9
I'm a sucker for elbow patches. I recently saw this sweater in the store- the slub merino is to die for.
J Crew, $89.50
Everlane Cashmere 4 of 9
I've thoroughly converted my husband to Everlane. He owns their tees in almost every color and he picked up one of their weekender bags a while back. Next up: one of their super soft cashmere sweaters!
Gap Shawl Collar 5 of 9
I love a good shawl collar but it's kind of difficult to get my husband to accept any "fancy" details. The simple, classic hunter green hue on this one might persuade him that he can handle a fun collar.
Gap, $38.97 (on sale)
New Item 5 6 of 9
Ok my husband would never in a million years wear anything that even HINTED at Fair Isle but that doesn't stop me from dreaming.
American Eagle, $69.95
UO Urban Renewal Army Sweater 7 of 9
The military inspired shoulder patches take this basic gray sweater up a notch.
Urban Outfitters, $39
JCPenney Striped Crewneck Sweater 8 of 9
Classic stripes in dark colors always go over well with my sartorially staid husband.
JCPenney, $14.99 (on sale)
Scotch and Soda Ombre 9 of 9
I LOVE ombre. I have no idea if my husband would wear this one but I would borrow it like crazy.
