9 Ways to Wear Your Special Pieces After the Holidays

After the holidays I sometimes forget that I can still wear my holiday pieces. Just because they’re a little more glamorous than the rest of my pieces doesn’t mean they aren’t appropriate for other times of the year, so don’t forget about them as you style your pieces in the New Year!

For a fancy skirt, like a tulle or sequin one, try styling it with a baseball tee, boots and a cross body bag it instantly "casualizes" it! Now this holiday skirt is appropriate for birthday parties or date nights.

  • Try a Cargo Jacket 3 of 10

Hunter boots, an olive cargo jacket, and a graphic tee to offset the dressiness of the skirt. I love the look of a cargo skirt with sequins and I'll definitely be trying that this year as soon as I make myself a sequin skirt!

  • Style with Chambray 4 of 10

Although sequin and tulle skirts can be fancy for church, I would definitely wear them throughout the year paired with chambray and booties.

To add a bit of glam and sparkle to your everyday wardrobe, try layering a sequin or sparkly top under your sleeveless dresses! Then it's totally appropriate for lunch dates, church, or really any time.

For a more subtle look, layer your sequin top under a dress in a similar color!

Texture and shine are both elements that create a fabulous outfit, so why not kill two birds with one stone and wear your sequin top in an every day look? Layer it over a simple plaid top, unbuttoned, and add a pair of rain boots for a fun casual look! I would wear this any day of the week -- to the grocery store, out to a casual dinner...anywhere!

Don't put those sparkly shoes away just yet! They're perfect for date night or girls night paired with a leather jacket and boyfriend jeans!

Gingham has such a casual feel for me, so layering it under a holiday dress instantly makes it feel casual. Add booties and throw your hair in a top knot to complete the look!

  • Pair with Summer Dresses and Sandals 10 of 10

Even in the summer, sequins are appropriate! Try pairing a sequin bag with a simple summer dress and sandals for church, date night, or a girls night!
