A Navy Necessity

Like most New Yorkers, I have a lot of dark clothing in my wardrobe. It’s not often that I branch out and buy pops of color, unless I am really loving the clothing piece. Many times when I go shopping I gravitate towards either grey or black. I feel most comfortable in it and the colors are very flattering. There are some times that I do go a little bit “crazy” and stray from my black and grey and go towards navy. It’s still dark, but it does add a little bit of versatility to my closest.

I love wearing navy because it’s great for all seasons and you can wear nearly any color accessory with it to add a pop of color or tone it down. Fall is a great time to wear navy because it compliments the deep, rich, orange and red hues we see all season long.

I recently added a great navy dress to my pregnancy wardrobe that is great because of it’s versatility. Not only is it flattering with my baby bump, but it is flattering without!

  • Must-Have Navy Dress 1 of 5

I love wearing navy because it is so versatile. It's a great color to wear no matter what the season. This afternoon dress by Hatch Collection is such a great dress that can be worn during the day and then dress it up a bit for a night out.

  • Just the Right Fit 2 of 5

This is my third pregnancy and as much it is hard to admit, my body just isn't the way it was during my first pregnancy. The slim fitting dress that I wore when I was pregnant with my oldest doesn't make me feel as comfortable as it did back then. I love that this dress draped so beautifully over my bump and was so comfortable that I could wear it while running around after the girls.

    Dress: c/o Hatch Collection $208

    Boots:  rag & bone  $495

Clutch: c/o Vince Camuto (similar $148)

    Necklace: J.Crew (similar $29.50)

  • Fall Boots 3 of 5

These boots have been my absolute favorite for fall because they really go with everything and are so comfortable to wear. I have to invest in good comfortable shoes living here in the city because I am always walking around. I love that these go with nearly anything in my closet and don't hurt my feet after walking in them all day long. A win/win for this pregnant mama.

    Watch: Michael Kors (similar $295)

    Gold Bracelet: Vintage

    Boots:  rag & bone  $495

Clutch: c/o Vince Camuto (similar $148)

  • Pop of Color 4 of 5

To brighten this dress up, I decided to add a coral necklace. It adds that pop of color that makes the dress stand out even more.

    Necklace: J.Crew (similar $29.50)

  • Fall Perfection 5 of 5

I wore this outfit for our family fall photos, which will be used on our holiday cards this year. It was the perfect dress to help me still look stylish while showing off my bump and allowing me plenty of movement to run after my little ladies.
