DIY Sparkle Sunglasses

FacebookTwitterGoogle+TumblrPinterest

I’m obsessing over glitter these days, and everything is getting a little sparkly makeover. Today I want to show you a really easy DIY project that will make a simple pair of sunglasses into a fabulous pair — it’s a fun gift, or just an easy way to upcycle an old pair of unused glasses.

Materials

  • Sunglasses
  • Glitter (fine grain — I used coarse grain and it catches on my hair a bit)
  • Painters Tape
  • Mod Podge
  • Sponge Brush

Start off with your sunglasses, glitter, mod podge, and sponge brush.

Use a bit of painters tape to cover up the lenses so just the arms of the glasses are exposed.

Spread a thick coat of mod podge over the outside of each arm.

  • Glitter 5 of 7

Now sprinkle the glitter over the glue, wiping off any that gets on the inside or sides where you don't want it.

Let the glitter dry for 24 hours and then spread a thin coat of mod podge over each arm to seal the glitter. (I found it easier to dab it on with the brush rather than spread). Let dry completely.

  • And you’re done! 7 of 7

A fun accessory for any time of the year!
