Get That Look!Latonya Yvette
Living in New York City, I am constantly in awe and inspired by street style. I often find myself people watching and outfit dreaming during stroller naps and single mama coffee dates. There is just an overwhelming amount of eclectic beauty in these streets, and I am so excited to share that with you all in a new “Get that look!” series here on Babble.
My camera and I will do our best to capture some seriously stylish individuals that we pass on our everyday. With this new series, I want to not only showcase some awesome style, but provide inspiration to try some of these looks on your own. There is an abundance of chic clothing, but most times we all gravitate to some of the same. Making it our own is key. Most of these individuals that I will feature will be doing just that… making it their own.
Janelle Kroll’s style on an overcast day in Brooklyn, was so effortlessly chic. She had this beautiful “I just rolled out of the bed” hair that struck me. Her sweet and generous personality wasn’t too bad either. Janelle is a talented musician with a new feature in Dennis Ferrer’s “Mind Ur Step” which is produced by Defected Records.

Besides Janelle's amazing hair ( I mean, it's pretty amazing you guys!) catching my eye, it was her statement necklace. Pairing a huge necklace with a plain t-shirt is an easy way to look chic without much effort.

You can purchase a similar t-shirt from American Apparel for just $16.
H&M Necklace 4 of 7
Truth is, Janelle's necklace was the bomb (taking it back to the 90s today), and really nothing can compare. But... this H&M's bird necklace comes in at a close second. And you can't go wrong with a $7.95 price tag.
You can thank me later.

I love this color palette!
Skirt 6 of 7
This skirt is similar to Janelle's since it is a maxi and it is also in the same color family. The prints are totally different; I think that's all the fun when mimicking someone's look. You can fully copy certain aspects, but changing things like prints makes the look unique and all your own.
Skirt is from Forever 21 at only $22.80
Sandals 7 of 7
You can find these cuties at Urban Outfitters for $53. They match Janelle's super-cool, casual air.
