Great Ideas For Your Fourth of July Beach PartyNatalie
Of all the places to celebrate the Nation’s birth I can’t think of any place better than on a nice sunny beach. Invite a few of your closest friends (ask them all to bring their own dogs and buns for roasting . . . you’ll be providing the s’mores and fancy cupcakes!), lay out a couple of American Flag beach towels, get a good bonfire going, maybe toss around a football. Easy! And you’ll look so patriotic working on your tan!
And now, a few simple party ideas to maximize the fun and minimize the stress:
Mark The Spot 1 of 7
Make it really easy for guests to know where the party's happening with, what else? A giant American Flag.
Get it at Target HERE for $71.99.
Some Kickin’ Tunes 2 of 7
My personal party motto has always been "Don't Shy Away From The Cheese," and I am not talking about food. So haul out that old boom box (be sure to pack some spare batteries) and put on something bombastically patriotic. (Just don't turn it up too loud, you do have beach neighbors to consider, after all.)
Get it at Target HERE for $12.89.
Party Favors 3 of 7
Every party needs games, even beach parties. I love this kitschy little patriotic piñata, and for a beach party I'd stuff it full of the usual candy, as well as travel-sized bottles sunblock and aloe vera, and maybe some cheap-o plastic sunglasses too.
Get it at Target HERE for $14.99.
Beach Towels 4 of 7
For a patriotic look you won't mind sporting long after the Fourth, these beach towels by home decor genius Nate Berkus will fit the bill quite nicely.

A Few Well-Placed Decorations 5 of 7
The best simple parties I've been to always have just one area of the space done up in an over-the-top, well-done statement of party decor extravaganza. In this case, as in most, you'll want it to be the snack table. Bring out an old card table and trim it up in this adorable paper bunting, and let the rest of the decor be made from the food itself--in this case, the desserts!--and simply add a generous stack paper plates, cups, and utensils in red, white, or blue.
B.Y.O.Grill 6 of 7
It may seem contrary, but the most fun and easy going parties I've been to are usually self-hosted in one aspect or another. Maybe you bring your own drinks, maybe you bring your own board games, but most of the time it comes in the form of bringing your own food. Having your guests bring in their own picnic lunch frees them up to decide what they want to eat and when, frees you up to focus on creating a few show-stopping desserts (so much more satisfying to prepare and present, right?), and it even has the surprising bonus of helping guests feel extra at ease, since they know for usre they're not hogging up too much of the communal bean dip. These little tabletop grills are just perfect for cooking up the dogs for your family, and they pack away fairly quickly too, with minimal clean up. Find yours at your local Target store (not available online).
Something To Haul It All In 7 of 7
You know what? You only live once. Cart your stuff to the beach in style why don't you?
Get it at Target HERE for $19.99.
Next time, let’s talk about what you’re wearing.
