Holiday Pieces To Wear Into The New Year

We all did it. We splurged on pieces for the holidays or picked up a piece that we may not wear again because after all, it looked so…festive. Fret not my friends, despite what you may think, that sequin top or bold red dress can work for you once again. Whether it is date night or an outfit for work, these five holiday pieces can be worked into your current wardrobe rotation and hang around for the next few months AT LEAST.

Don’t put away your holiday frocks just yet ladies, there are many more ways to wear them.

  • Can You Really Wear This To Work? 1 of 11
    Holiday5

Yes. Read on to find out how.

  • Emerald Strapless 2 of 11
    holiday1

This dress may have been the rage of the holiday season, but what do we do with the little strapless dress in the hottest color of 2013 in the upcoming year?

    Available at ModCloth, $83

  • Loads Of Layers 3 of 11
    holi1

Layer it. Wear your holiday dress under a grey crew neck, a navy blazer, and booties. This fun school girl inspired look works well in a creative work setting or for lunch with the girls.

Blazer available at J. Crew, $198

    Sweater available at Uniqlo, $20

    Boots available at Zara, $100

  • Little Black Dress 4 of 11
    holiday2

A lot of us will be wearing little black dresses this NYE and luckily, it's an iconic piece that can be worn over and over for months and years to come.

    Available at Dorothy Perkins, $55

  • Perfecting The LBD 5 of 11
    holi2

Soften out the darkness by pairing with blush and grey, my favorite combination.

Jacket available at My Wardrobe, $174

Boots available at Nine West, $84

    Bag available at Zara, $80

  • Your Bold, Red Dress 6 of 11
    holiday3

Because you had to. A red dress for the holidays was a must and you swore you would wear it again, but now? You're not quite sure how to get it back into your wardrobe rotation.

    Available at Zara, $50

  • Tone It Down 7 of 11
    holi3

Get inspired by the chicness of French fashion. A belted cardigan and ballet flats help tone down the boldness without making it boring.

    Sweater available at Target, $18

    Shoes available at Gap, $40

Belt available at Daily Look, $13

Bag available at River Island, $60

  • Luxious Leather Leggings 8 of 11

I actually have a few pairs of these and wear them until it gets warm. Your party time leggings were actually a smart choice!

W118 Leggings available at Saks, $75

BCBG Leggings available at Bloomingdale's, $69 (available in store)

  • Soften Up The Leather Look 9 of 11
    Holi4

The leggings say tough chic, but everything else says all classic. A crisp white shirt with an open drape cardigan and pumps are a no fail look for the office.

    Bag available at Gap, $98

    Shoes available at 6PM, $70

    Shirt available at StyleBop, $87

    Sweater available at Aeropostle, $33

  • Sparkly Sequin Top 10 of 11
    Holiday5

We've bought sequined pants, dresses, and tops for New Year's Eve, but now how do we pull them off on a "regular" day?

    Available at Topshop, $70

  • No Accessories 11 of 11
    holi5

Bail on jewelry, as the sequin is sparkle enough for the whole outfit. Pair with a simple black trouser and grey blazer for the perfect office attire. You can wear it with heels, but a pair of lace up flats adds a touch of menswear to this flirty top for some nice contrast.

Blazer available at Miss Selfridges, $68

    Shoes available at Amazon, $17

    Bag available at Topshop, $72

    Trousers available at Madewell, $128
