This summer, a few of my muu muus were in constant rotation. They were with me at the beach, at the park, on road trips, on planes, and even home on a normal day doing chores. With a belt and a pair of clogs, they instantly become more than just a shapeless dress. The became a style must and a summer essential.

Add a few fall basics 2 of 5
Adding a few fall basics is an easy way to turn a summer essential into a fall essential.
1. Add a denim jacket. A denim jacket is go-to for almost every day in fall. It requires little to no styling and almost always looks great with whatever you wear.
2.Add a pair of jeans. They can be skinny, boyfriend, or flare. It all works.
3. Add a pair of suede boots. I say suede because suede screams cold weather. And when you want a summer piece to look more fall-like, a little thing like a suede boot will do wonders.

Layer your accessories 4 of 5
In the summer, besides a few bracelets and tiny rings I like to keep my jewelry light and simple. With the heat-induced sweat, jewelry just doesn't seem appealing. In the fall, it's all about the chunky and the layers.
4. Add chunky jewelry. Have fun with it. Mix and match your silvers and your golds. Throw on some vintage and some more modern. It's about the fun in it.
5. Always add a hat or scarf or both. The thing about a muu muu is it can seem really summery. And that's because it very well is. But accessorizing your fall muu muu look with a hat (like I did) or both makes it a fall essential. Just like a suede boot, it's a little thing that goes a very long way.
Have fun with it! 5 of 5
