Interpreting Holiday Party Dress Codes: Semi-Formal

This week, I’m talking about interpreting holiday party dress codes! First, I talked about Black Tie here, and today we’re talking about Semi-Formal.

For most big company holiday parties, the dress code is often semi-formal, otherwise known as cocktail attire. Personally, I think this is the easiest dress code to interpret because all you need to know is that cocktail dresses are appropriate!

There are a million cocktail dresses out there, but I tried to find ones that I really would wear, that were fun and unique without being too bold and crazy, and covered me up so I would feel comfortable.

  • Lace & Tulle Sheath Dress 11 of 11

I'm completely in love with this lacy dress. The monochromatic coloring, the strap details at the waist for a slimming effect, the scalloped neckline and sleeves? It's all so gorgeous. The worst part would be deciding which color to buy!

Find it at Nordstrom for $298 (many more colors available!)
