FacebookTwitterGoogle+TumblrPinterest

Hair accessorizing is trending in a big way right now, from Bohemian-inspired headbands and flower crowns to  turban scarves—there are literally hundreds to choose from!  Though we love them all, headbands are especially hot right now. They add a little oomph to your outfit when your hair is anything but fabulous. And the icing on the cake—they couldn’t be easier to make! Seriously, I think my 3-year-old nephew could make these darling headbands with his eyes closed! (Okay, might be exaggerating a little here.)

Click through the photos below to see how to make your own DIY headbands with some cute specialty ribbon and a little elastic!

Sew the elastic to each end of the ribbon, making sure nothing is twisted! Don't let the hand sewing turn you off, it takes about 2 minutes total!

I love the soft feminine look of wearing this one lower down across the forehead. The look can be for anything from bridal chic to girly casual.

Crochet lace ribbon (Mine was from Joann Fabric), cut to the diameter of your head minus 3 inches

2.5 inch long piece of elastic (1/4" wide)

    Needle and thread

  • Folded Edges 7 of 10

Fold the edges of the ribbon into the middle to match the width of the elastic.

  • Sew, Sew, Sew 8 of 10
    IMG_6457

Sew the elastic to each end of the folded ribbon, again making sure nothing is twisted. 10 stitches on each side will do the trick!

  • Another One Down! 9 of 10

Here's your finished product. Tug on the ends where the elastic is to make sure it is strongly in place and throw your new Boho headband on!

You can style this a few different ways: on top of your head like a traditional headband or across the top of your forehead for a more bohemian/hippy chic look.
