Mini and Me: Casual Spring Uniform

Everyone should have a casual spring uniform, don’t you think? Something that is your go-to for a cool sunny day during spring. I have a few uniforms, but one of them is one that my niece and I want to share with you today. It’s comfy, casual, simple, and cute, and is perfect for a day of running errands, an evening walk, an afternoon at the park, or a day on vacation.

Here’s the formula: nice tee + casual denim + comfy sneakers + light outerwear + simple accessories.

My niece, Ella, knows that a nice tee (rather than an ugly, boring choice) make a casual outfit instantly more put together. She went with a peplum to add a bit of visual interest. She paired it with denim shorts, a lightweight utility style jacket (so trendy!), and a pair of pink Converse. She also added a little hair braid for her simple accessory. Isn’t she the cutest?

I went for a more adult version of her outfit, with a half sleeve striped tee (which is a little nicer than just a regular short sleeved tee) and distressed denim skinny jeans, rather than shorts. Since I wore jeans, I went with a lightweight vest, rather than a jacket, since I knew I would get too warm in a long sleeved jacket. I wore my white Converse, which are so comfortable and add a sporty-chic vibe, and then completed the look with a pendant necklace, some gold arm candy, and a fun summer bag.

So do you think you can handle the casual spring uniform? The key is to keep the outfit casual but chic. Make sure all the pieces you choose to create this outfit are ones that fit you well and flatter your form so your casual outfit looks put together and fabulous!
