No-Sew Sparkle Sweatshirt DIY

Over the last few days, I’ve shared a few DIY sweatshirt tutorials — a lace embellished one here, a jeweled raglan one here, and even a contrasting raglan one here on my personal blog. I’m obsessed!

Today I found another fun one, and the best part is that it’s a no-sew one! I’ve seen a ton of sweatshirts embellished with beads and other sparkles, so I gave it a try with some little sew-on jewels I found at Jo-Ann’s. But instead of spending hours sewing them all on by hand, I just used a little glue and had the whole thing done in thirty minutes!

Click through for a really simple tutorial so you can make your own no-sew sparkle sweatshirt!

Materials:

  • sweatshirt or sweater
  • sew-on embellishments (I found mine at Jo-Ann’s)
  • embellishment glue (I used Jewel-It)

Put your sweater on a dress form and pin the embellishments in place. If you don't have a dress form, lay your sweatshirt flat on the ground and arrange the embellishments. If you do this, make sure you place some cardboard, paper, or aluminum foil inside the shirt to prevent seeping.

One by one, lift off each embellishment, put a dab of glue on the back, and then press into place.

Let dry for a few hours, or follow the instructions on the back of your glue bottle.

Rock your sparkly sweatshirt all season long!
