Belle, blogger, mother, and actually my clothing line partner has been a true New Yorker for some time now. She speaks of New York passion, dreams, and fashion so fiercely you just want to stop everything you’re doing and listen. No wonder why her style is no different.
Her style, after having two kids less then two years apart from each other, is something she has found again recently. Like many moms, and people in general, Bell went through a stage of trying different styles, but at the end she went back to what she felt most like herself in. Black. Not just black, but black with attitude. Black with a city-chic twist. Black that is mom-friendly and confident. I admire those who try different things, and I admire those who know what they truly feel most like themselves in.
Here is how you can take Belle’s look from the streets to your closet!

Here is how you can make Belle's street style into your own!
Belle 2 of 9
Belle's getup was a well-fit look combed with a variety of textures
Layer in Leather 3 of 9
Recently, I found the power in a good leather jacket. Even if it's faux, it has to be gooood. Good, meaning the ability to withstand lots of layers and still look downright awesome, and the ability to withstand just a few layers (or none) and look downright awesome!
Put a Vest on It 4 of 9
When Belle took off her leather, I was kind of like wow! With a red lip and a pair of heals, that outfit would sure have been good for a quick date night!
A Vest / An InVESTment? 5 of 9
Like any good layering piece. a vest should be an investment. Like Belle, you can wear yours in the fall, winter, spring. and summer.
Let your Denim lead the way 6 of 9
A good pair of denim jeans is like a good manicure. You need it. Whether they be a dark pair or a black, cut-up pair.
Cut-it-up! 7 of 9
Nowadays, jeans with cuts on them are readily available. Every time I go to purchase a pair, I think back to that time in my teens when I spent almost half a day cutting up my own. It felt great, but I promise I NEVER did that again.
Shine on Bootie 8 of 9
When you're wearing all black, it's great to have different textures involved and different levels of shine too.
Meaningful and Simple Jewlery 9 of 9
Belle's necklace has a beautiful story. When New York's transit system switched from tokens as payment to metro cards, Belle kept hers. It was a piece of history that meant a lot to her and many New Yorkers. It was an end to an era and Belle documented it. Jewelry with a story is key.
