Whip Up | Kathreen Ricketson (Founder)
- #1 Best Overall
The What’s What: Founded in 2006, Whip Up has become one of the web’s go-to sites for new and exciting crafts. There is no one author on the site, nor is there one central philosophy; rather, Whip Up prides itself on being a community of artists coming together to inspire one another. The site links to outside blogs which showcase everything from adorable homemade clothing (we LOVE these socks) to cute plush accessories.
The Mama: Kathreen Ricketson, a mom of two from Canberra, Australia, is the founder of Whip Up. A design manager at an art magazine with a degree in photo-media arts, Whip Up is her brainchild, and the place where she can share her love for crafting. In addition to the site, she has also recently authored the book Whip Up Mini Quilts, a collection of 20 fabulous quilts you can make at home.
