Toddler Fashion File: We Love Leg Warmers!
I’m a child of the 80s.
I remember going to preschool in my white turtle neck and jean skirt, accessorized, of course, by rainbow suspenders. I rocked a Dorothy Hamill haircut at age 4, and by 6 I knew Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” by heart (although I didn’t quite understand the meaning of “touched for the very first time”).
Another thing I remember from my 80s youth is this: leg warmers. I’m sure I had more than one pair, but the ones I remember were purple with Miss Piggy appliques. And because what’s old is always new again in fashion, leg warmers are back, baby.
My 3 year old loves wearing them, and I love them too. They’re a great way to add some seasonal flair to wardrobe staples.
