Being a mama, especially a mama of a toddler, is a hard job. It requires so much time, energy, and sacrificing of our own needs on a daily basis. In fact, I think sometimes as moms, it’s really easy for us to lose ourselves in our kids and our family, and neglect to make an effort on, or take time for, ourselves.
But, it is really important to take care of ourselves as moms. It helps us to feel better about ourselves, which in turn can help us to be better moms.
Just the other morning, I had a few minutes to myself while my hubby dropped my daughter off at school. He had taken my son with him too, so I was all alone in the house, and was trying to figure out what I should do with my precious minutes of quiet time.
Because it wasn’t a big chunk of time, I decided to try a quick natural nail care idea I had recently read about. It took me less than five minutes to make the recipe, rub it into my hands and nails, push my cuticles back, and file my uneven nails into a nice shape.
I realized just how much taking that five minutes of time to do something quick and easy for myself made such a difference in my day. My hands looked really nice for the first time in a while, and my skin felt nice and soft, a welcome change after being dry and cracked all winter. And I’ve continued to take better care of my hands and have been enjoying the benefits of those few minutes of pampering since then.
Taking time to pamper yourself can sometimes seem like an overwhelming thing. You might feel like you need to have at least an hour of uninterrupted time, or some special pampering products that cost an arm and a leg. But really, there are lots of great and easy ways to take care of, and pamper, yourself on a regular basis that only take a few minutes of time, use items or ingredients you probably already have in your home, and are all-natural and eco-friendly at the same time.
