5 Parenting New Years Resolutions

Because who doesn't love goals?

For me, 2012 is the year of organization.

Organization for the kids, my own life, for work… organization for my house. Everything needs to get organized before I lose the one ounce of sanity I have left.

So I knew I needed to set some goals, and priorities when it comes to my kids as well. They are the number one priority in our house!

This year is a pretty big year for our toddler as well. Ben is 2, and he will be turning 3 in 2012. They grow so fast! It seems like yesterday he was just learning to walk and now he is preparing to head to a pre-school program.

Yeah, school for the little guy. Partly for me, mostly for him, and man is he overly interested in it since he has been watching his big brother since he started in September. I think the socialization will be good for him!

I was wondering though… what kind of parenting New Years Resolutions are some of you guys making? Do you have any goals, hopes, dreams…

  • Cook Dinner Regularly 1 of 5
    Cook Dinner Regularly
If you know me, you know how much I seriously loathe the kitchen, and cooking. My mother's Paula Dean cooking skills NEVER rubbed off on me. One of my goals is to start cooking more, improving, and making dinner time more structured for my kids!
  • Lots of Craft Projects! 2 of 5
    Lots of Craft Projects!
I love craft projects, even if they make a giant mess. The kids love them too, and I really want to encourage the kids creative sides and help them grow their imagination through art. Any crafts you recommend?
  • Visit the Library more! 3 of 5
    Visit the Library more!
We have a local library with great programs for children of all ages, and with my oldest son in school three times a week... I think we have time to visit some of the programs!

  • Spend more one-on-one time with the kids 4 of 5
Spend more one-on-one time with the kids
I think each child really needs one-on-one time with each parent, and I feel like most of the time I am split between all three of the kids. I certainly want to focus more time on each kid and make it matter.
  • Enroll our Toddler in School 5 of 5
    Enroll our Toddler in School
We would like to put our two year old into the "two year old room" at school a couple days a week to help him socialize with other children other than his siblings. I think it would really benefit him. And of course my sanity! How old were your kids when they went into a similar program?
