10 Ways Puppies and Toddlers are One in the Same

Puppies and toddlers

Try to dislike a puppy or toddler. Go ahead. We’ll wait.

One of them has four legs. One of them has two legs. But when it comes to puppies and toddlers, that’s where their differences end.

They’re full of mischief, they never stop begging, and if you give them enough love, they will shower you with sloppy kisses and adore you forever.

Here are 10 ways that toddlers and puppies can be easily confused for each other:

    #1: Professional Beggers
They have no shame. Toddlers and puppies will beg, beg you for whatever you're eating, no matter if they just ate five minutes ago or five hours ago.
  • #2: See-Food Diet 2 of 10
    #2: See-Food Diet
If it's food — great! — toddlers and puppies will eat it.
If it's not food but looks interesting nevertheless? Who's picky? Not toddlers and puppies — they'll eat that, too.
  • #3: Sweet Breath 3 of 10
    #3: Sweet Breath
Puppies and toddlers aren't tainted with malicious things that would make them exude anything that doesn't smell like rainbows mixed with powdered sugar.
This will change, of course, when they become big kids (who don't brush their teeth) and fully grown dogs (who eat their own feces).
  • #4: Puppy Dog Eyes 4 of 10
    #4: Puppy Dog Eyes
Puppy dog eyes aren't limited to puppies. Toddlers have them, too.
That's why it's impossible to ever get mad at them.
Go ahead and try. We'll wait.
  • #5: Rock-Star Greeting 5 of 10
    #5: Rock-Star Greeting
It doesn't matter if you went away for the weekend or to the other room for 19 seconds to fill up a glass of water:
When you return, you will be greeted like you're John Lennon or Paul McCartney, circa 1964.
  • #6: Teething & Shredding 6 of 10
    #6: Teething & Shredding
Toilet paper. Toilet paper rolls. Napkins. Shoes. Socks. T-shirts. Bags. Stuffed animals. Those really, really, really important papers that were sitting on your bed.
Toddlers and puppies alike enjoy making maximum mess, but especially with things that mean the absolute most to you.
  • #7: Potty Training? Ha! 7 of 10
    #7: Potty Training? Ha!
Toddlers and puppies will pee and poop anywhere, anytime.
    Rub their nose in it?
They'll giggle (or wag their tails) that much harder.
  • #8: They’re Even Cuter When They Cry 8 of 10
#8: They're Even Cuter When They Cry
No one wants to see a toddler cry, or a puppy whimper.
    But when they do?
They're even cuter than when they're happy.
    As if that's even possible.
  • #9: Award-Winning Cuddlers 9 of 10
    #9: Award-Winning Cuddlers
Toddlers and puppies snuggle like it's their job.
And frankly, they deserve bonuses, because they're both so damn good at it.
  • #10: Always Faithful 10 of 10
    #10: Always Faithful
Other can and will love them, but toddlers and puppies will clearly and simply never love anyone the way they love you.
