12 Non-Toxic Nail Polishes To Paint Your Toddler's Tootsies

acquarella non toxic nail polish

Last week I posted about how my 3 year-old boy has been repeatedly asking to have his nails painted. I nearly bought some polish at the drugstore, but refrained. I’ll be honest. It was mostly because I forgot my wallet. But I had some pause about buying conventional nail polish after learning about all the crapola that’s in it.

So, like everything else that should be simple, I made this nail polish thing a big project. I started researching non-toxic nail polishes. I’m sure if I had tried this ten years ago, I wouldn’t have found much.

Luckily, nowadays there are many cosmetic companies that make polish without the big three horrible ingredients:

Formaldehyde

Dibutyl phthalate (see also phthalates)

and

Toluene

I just bought some nail polish from Pharmaca, brand is Sparitual. It should also be non-toxic.

I have heard that the water-based polish comes off pretty easily. I have used the No-Miss and it worked well. It does have a smell, however. Fun colors, though!

Joe Fresh nail polish is made without formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, or camphor and it’s a relative bargain compared to these other options at just $4!
