Reading books together is one of the very best activities you can do with your toddler. It enhances their speech and language development, improves communication and social skills, and— perhaps, most importantly— strengthens the bond between parent and child.
Summer is a great time to make reading time more of a priority. Days are longer. The pace is slower. And with outings like camping, swimming, and trips to the beach, there are so many opportunities to explore real life activities in the pages of a book.
Here are 12 of my favorite books for summertime reading with my toddler. Some are classics. Some are more recent titles. But they’re all guaranteed to give you and your kiddo a little taste of summer fun!
