I think winters in Seattle are sort of like childbirth. They are so bad that once they are over you immediately block out how bad it is, in order to gear up to do it all over again. I spent all summer going on and on about how there is no place I love more, and no place I’d rather live. I even casually mentioned how the winters aren’t really that dark or that rainy. Ohhh but summer Emily – yes, yes they are – you had just forgotten.
I keep coming up with all these grand exercise plans. Morning yoga, evening runs, daily long dog walks – and then every day my plans are foiled by rain and wind, or a 4pm sunset. So recently, I’ve started coming up with more realistic ideas. I’ve turned to our shiny new Xbox 360. I have never been a gamer, other than the few years of my childhood I spent hopeless addicted to the original Nintendo. I’m learning that these new video game systems have a lot more to offer than they did in 1988.
For the next few months, I’m going to give indoor fitness a try. I’m trying out a few different games and programs to find the best fit. Here are 5 games I’m checking out, so I can stay active this winter…nggallery template=’carousel’ id=’128404′
