There are a lot of adorable, beautiful DIY advent calendars that I’ve drooled over and envisioned making for my kids and then all of a sudden, it’s the night before the 1st of December and I haven’t made time to do any of them.
While I’m definitely a big fan of handmade gifts, I never seem to find enough time to make intricate advent calendars for the kids. Which hasn’t stopped me yet, because you see – I really love handmade advents. I’m not talking a bunch of candy and useless dollar store crap that the kids bust into everyday either. Last year handwritten love notes, activity ideas and craft projects went over really well.
The chocolates did too. Obviously. Confession? Last year I put their advent up days late and they were none the wiser. There’s only a few years where you can get away with that if you’re into making an advent each year a part of your family’s annual holiday traditions.
I did a quick search to draw up some inspiration for my own last minute advent making tonight, join me?

I've seen these little cloth bags at the dollar-store and there's nothing saying that you couldn't use any type of cloth or plastic gift bags you can find last minute! When they're this young they don't really care much about trendy hipster aesthetics.

I've chosen to do my own version of this one for this kids tonight! Yes, I'll be up late, cracking into the first bottle of Baileys (what?) of the season; filling each pocket while watching Love Actually. BEST.

Who knew construction paper and brown envelopes could look so hipster?! Love the ideas listed here for the advent.
