9 Fun Toys to Ring in the Summer With!

Happy June!

I don’t know about you, but where I live it is starting to get HOT! Summer may not be upon us for another couple weeks but it feels like it is the dead of July already!

In the past week we have started to break out the water toys in the yard and I thought now would be a perfect time to put together a fun list of summer toys all toddlers should be enjoying with this beautiful weather!

If your toddlers are anything like mine, they have no desire to be inside the house once it is warm out. Sun up to sun down they want to play outside or on our back deck which I am completely fine with! I mean, when I was little my mom would basically kick me out of the house ’till dinner time. Of course not when I was a toddler but as a child!

I am secretly glad they want to go outside to spend their days instead of rotting in front of a game system like so many kids are today — but that’s a whole other story for another day! I also love sitting out in the fresh air watching the smiles on their faces; there are far less fights when we’re outside playing!

These are some of our favorites and new toys we have picked up for the summer which is upon us.

If you have activities or toys that are a must in your family, please comment below to share all the amazing ideas with the other readers!

  • A Water Table 1 of 9
    A Water Table
You don't have to buy a fancy water table, and you could even make one of your own, but it is a summer must have with toddlers! We use ours every day when it starts to heat up!

  • Sidewalk Chalk 2 of 9
    Sidewalk Chalk
When I was growing up this was a creative must-have. We don't have a ton of places to use it at our house, but we still have a hefty amount of side walk chalk in our house. It is so important to help your toddlers channel their inner creativity!

  • Splash Pad 3 of 9
    Splash Pad
If you do not have a pool, a splash pad is a great alternative for keeping cool in the summer time. One of the best parts is, they are not nearly as dangerous as swimming pools for toddlers!

  • Sandbox 4 of 9
    Sandbox
Who wouldn't love a pirate ship sandbox? I love this idea and I also love the fact that it is made by KidKraft since their products are so well made. Digging, burying, and adventuring in the sand is a summer must for all toddlers!

  • Tricycle 5 of 9
    Tricycle
This is an adorable tricycle made by Little Tikes but whether it is this one or a different I think that a tricycle is one of those must have toys for the summer in toddlerhood!

  • Ride on Toys 6 of 9
    Ride on Toys
Any kind of ride on toys, whether it is this little fire truck which we have in our house or a cozy coupe!
They are just so much fun!

  • Kid Tough Walkie Talkies 7 of 9
    Kid Tough Walkie Talkies
These are so cool since they are meant for little kids! When I was younger I always wanted to play with walkie talkies but they were far too "mature" so what a great toddler friendly solution!

  • Backyard Bowling Set 8 of 9
