My toddler’s bedtime routine usually involves the 5 Bs: Bath, Brushing Teeth, Book, Back rub, and Bed.
Tonight, though, we’re shaking things up a bit. We’re skipping the book and spending that time playing a new iPad app together from Disney Junior, called Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally.
Check it out!
The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally app is an “appisode,” meaning that brings all the interactive features of a traditional app and combines them with the fun of an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It’s a great way for toddlers to learn through play, while at the same time introducing them to technology.
My 3 year old is a huge Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan so I knew she’d enjoy the appisode on our iPad, but I had no idea how much of a hit it would actually turn out to be. Her favorite part was being able to talk to Mickey!
In terms of toddler development, this app is right on track with activities that are age appropriate and toddler-focused. They can count, play memory games, and work on shape and color recognition with all the familiar Clubhouse characters.
We’ll definitely be using this app (and another: Jake’s Never Land Pirate School) at bedtime as a part of our routine. It’s a great way to end the day on a positive note with your kiddo, snuggled up and ready for bed.
Disney Junior WATCH makes full length episodes of its popular shows available free online at www.watchdisneyjunior.com and via the Disney Junior WATCH app on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. If you’re a Comcast Xfinity subscriber, you have access to premiere content and shows “on demand” for up to 10 days! (Fans who aren’t on Comcast can contact their cable provider to ask for the service via the website or the app.)
Join us August 8th (that’s tomorrow!) at 9 PM EST for a Disney Junior Twitter party! You could win an iPad. RSVP at http://bit.ly/QsXDE2 and use the hashtags #spon and #mackidtips
