Awesomely Awkward Family Pet Photos
Yes, I'm just as guilty of the awkward pet photo but damn, I loved that dog.
I’m a dog lover. I’ve pretty much owned a dog my entire life. Not the same dog, of course, but you know what I mean.
For most of my adult life I’ve owned Max. He’s a Black Labrador Retriever who is absolutely awesome with my kids. A few years ago Milo became a part of our family. He’s also a Black Lab Retriever who isn’t quite as careful around the kids. He’s full of love, just a little excitable.
I’ve taken thousands of photos of the dogs with the kids but never anything like what I’m seeing over on Awkward Family Pet Photos.
Okay, that’s a lie. I just remembered this photo shoot we surprised my mom with when I was 16 years old. That photo right up there is of me and my brothers and our beloved dog, Spliffy, who lived to the ripe age of 19. He just died last year. Yes, I had a small addiction to tanning beds. And shut up, matching denim totally rules. But listen, that photo is nothing compared to what you’re about to see.

Wait, is that a skunk? What the? I'm not sure which cats are real and which are part of the awesome graphics package this couple signed up for. Gotta love this dog even though I can't imagine the purpose behind commissioning this photograph of a dog in a feather boa. Everything about this photo is completely normal... and then there's the cat. What's propping him up back there? Is someone crouching behind the couple or is he clinging to the man's shirt? I will pay you good money if you can tell me the theme behind this photo. Is that a stripper pole? I actually think the bang braid is more alarming than the snake. Is she riding them like a horse cart? Are those reigns? I actually like this photo. Can't resist a cute pig. Everything about this family photo screams normal... Except the dog on the roof. So the rooster's name is Harry Joe Larry? I can dig that. Do you think he dyed his hair to match his pets? Seriously, WHAT is she wearing? I love how they're peering around a curtain... This dog is totally scream-whispering "HELP ME! HELP ME!" Just look at his eyes. Don't these two totally look alike? There are so many things wrong with this photo I don't even know where to begin. Just us gals hangin' out and havin' fun. Another super sweet graphic to jazz up the photo. Is that a real tiger? Because it almost makes more sense if it's real. Are these two lovers or siblings? Any guesses? I'm trying to envision the discussion that went down with the photographer about the concept of this photo shoot. "Okay, we'll get the dog and add a spaceship like the aliens are beaming you up. It'll be AMAZING!" What is the deal with skunks? Photographer: "Gorgeous, AMAZING. Don't move. Yes. Yes! This is brilliant. You are going to love this!" Dude, that monkey is pissed. I hope everyone is okay. I guess this family is really into Pugs. Ya think?

I can’t believe the wedding picture… Not only because of the dogs, but the position that the photographer let the bride and groom keep their hands! Clearly the photographer had no idea what he was doing. They both look like they are about to claw something apart! LOL

What a hoot. My kind of Fridee night fun. Made me think how I included my dog in the wedding pics. It made perfect sense since we were taken at my house before we left for churchky.

These are hilarious! The one with the bunnies, looks to me like mother/son… ? I think the cat is on a pedestal behind that couple, definitely sitting on something. The weird one with the family all wearing hats & holding objects… So strange! That’s not a stripper pole (who knows what it is) but what’s up with the kid in the back-seems out of place! Is s/he wearing a wig?
My hubby says skunks make good pets. You can get their enzyme sack or sprayer removed & evidently they are just like cats. His boss used to have one for a pet I guess. Weird huh?

The deal with skunks is that they can be very affection pets. A vet can remove the scent gland and they can be trained to walk on a lease. They do however required more attention then a cat or dog.
I am definitely naming my next rooster “Harry Joe Larry”!
These are so great. I giggled through them all. My favorites are the the cat behind the couple and the dog on the roof. As for the “stripper pole” I belive it’s a rifle with a really long barrel. Black powder maybe?
