Back to Life, Back to Reality

If you’ve been following my most recent “journey,” you know that I am a work-outside-of-the-home momma that turned into a stay-at-home-momma briefly that turned into a work-at-home-momma for the past 3 months.

It’s been one hell of a ride and adjustment.

There were different schedules. I had to wear different clothes. We tried having a live-in nanny to help while I worked.   I finally had time for a DIY house project.

Mostly, I felt really insecure.

This week, I was offered a six-month marketing contract with one of the best companies in the United States (pinch me!) and come the end of April, I will be back in the office full-time once more. I’m very excited about being back “in the saddle,” so to speak, and oh boy, this is THE company to return to, but there are certain aspects of being home that I will miss terribly:

(hint: my daily nap is #1)

  • Naps 1 of 9
I am so guilty of "resting my eyes" while my toddler sleeps. How will I make it through the day without an hour mid-day siesta?
  • Garbage Day 2 of 9
    Garbage Day
Thursday is the best day of the week, watching Harrison squeal over the garbage trucks. Now he will miss seeing them.
  • Morning Coffee 3 of 9
    Morning Coffee
Whether I get up before the kid or sip while he watches cartoons, I'll be switching from a mug & quiet back to a travel mug on the road.
  • Being Outside 4 of 9
    Being Outside
We spend about 8 hours a day outside when the weather is nice. I was really looking forward to a healthy summer glow & time at the pool!
  • Time to DIY 5 of 9
    Time to DIY
All the craft & DIY projects I had on the backburner? I did them the past few months! I'm going to miss refinishing furniture while Harrison chases the dog in the backyard.
  • My Kid 6 of 9
    My Kid
Oh, those snuggles & grins & laughs. HULK SMASH TO THE HEART.
  • Breakfast 7 of 9
Every morning, Harry & I sit down to a leisurely hot breakfast at the table together. Now it will be tossing back granola bars in the car.
  • Outdoor Lunch 8 of 9
    Outdoor Lunch
We eat almost every lunch on the screen porch. Note the muddy kid & garbage truck.
  • Smoothies! 9 of 9
I doubt there will be a blender & fresh spinach in my new office.
