Back-to-School Clothing for Toddlers

It’s that time of the year again when Target goes bonkers with decoration and specialty aisles and there are lists and wants versus needs and Momma’s wallet pulls out to pay for it all.

No, it’s not Christmas in July.  It’s back-to-school season!

It’s true, that Harrison goes to daycare and not grade school, but he still has a list of things to purchase and bring for his success. The typical items — diapers, wipes, sheet and blanket for nap. Plus a cool lunchbox that he’ll love for me to pack his lunch into every day. But my growing boy also has clothing needs that range from summer to winter, from play to practical. I like to shop the back-to-school sales and look for clothes that are comfy and fun! Here are a few of the essentials:

  • Shorts – $10 1 of 7
    Shorts - $10
I like the elastic waist shorts, which are easy to get up & down for potty training, but soft enough to not bother my picky kiddo.

  • Favorite Character tshirt – $15 2 of 7
    Favorite Character tshirt - $15
I like my boy to express his own personality & likes through clothing, so I don't mind getting him non-cheesey character clothing that makes him excited to wear it.

  • Jeans – $17 3 of 7
    Jeans - $17
Durable, flexible, perfect for fall & winter days in school.

  • Shoes – $7 4 of 7
    Shoes - $7
Harrison has a talent for scuffing his shoes horribly on the playground, thanks to the riding toys. We go through shoes every few months, so I look for rubber-soled ones that aren't too pricey since I know they'll have to be replaced.

  • Sweatshirt/Jacket – $15 5 of 7
    Sweatshirt/Jacket - $15
I keep one of these in Harrison's cubby throughout the fall & spring, just in case it's a little chilly that day when they go outside.

  • Swim Trunks – $10 6 of 7
    Swim Trunks - $10
Splash day, baby! Harry has to go to school wearing his trunks & pool shoes, so it's important to get a pair that is comfy, washable, & doesn't break the bank.

  • Plain tshirts – $10 7 of 7
    Plain tshirts - $10
When it comes to daycare, we can never have enough economical, comfy tshirts. Due to wear & tear & paint, they only last a few months before they start looking tired.
