Diary of a Stir Crazy Family

By dearcrissy |

When you live in Ohio, you become accustomed to long winters and grey skies.

I’ve never been a huge fan of winter, and while I do like to see one nice snowfall before Christmas, weeks upon weeks of miserable conditions are not my idea of a good time.

Pair the cold weather with a stir crazy toddler, and colicky newborn, and our entire family is really about to go ABSOLUTELY NUTS.

It’s funny, because this has been one of the mildest winters that I can recall. In fact, we’ve seen blue skies and sunshine for the past few days, but it’s still a little cold to get outside, and I am pretty tied to the house with the baby anyway.

I don’t think I have ever looked so forward to spring in my life, and I know that my toddler desperately needs to get some regular sunshine and outdoor physical activity.

I am actually fantasizing about being able to get outside with both of the kids this summer. I ache for warmth, sunshine, and that vitamin D!

Last summer I was pregnant, and suffering from severe nausea pretty much all day and night, and I feel like I missed a lot of special time with my toddler.

All I can say is, spring, please hurry. We are ready.

Are you dying for spring to arrive?

YES! My son was born in August so last summer I was pretty much as pregnant and miserable as you can be all summer long. I never, ever went outside becaues I would swell after about a second.
