Ever Miss Your Life Before Kids?

Me... Before Kids

We all had a time in our lives that we were young, wild, and free. Before marriage, before kids… before toddlers.

I started to reflect on that the other day when I found myself alone, two boys at school, and the baby sleeping… and it reminded me of how much has really changed in the last five years of my life.

Five years ago my husband and I started dating, a couple months later we were pregnant with my oldest son, and we became a family.

You don’t really understand these changes at the time. I never even though I would have kids!

I was the funny friend, the joker, the tooth fairy (as you can see in the photo), the designated driver when we would go out on the town… now I am the soccer mom, blogger, breastfeeding advocate with three kids.

I asked my readers the things that they miss most about their days before they put on their mom hat. I got some good submissions, and of course I put in a couple I miss myself.

Of course I would never trade my kids for anything. I cannot imagine my life without them today… they are my everything!

What do you miss about life before children?

Sleep!

This has to be the number one thing everyone missed from their pre-kid life.
Being able to sleep when they want, not having to get up at an ungodly hour, or a million times a night...
Heck, not having to sleep with a toddler lodged right in your rib cage between you and your husband!

When were you a soccer mom? I didnt realize you had your children in sports. Sports are great for children. We all have had our days of reminiscing our single days. Then realize how absolutely blessed we are.

@A – We are actually in the process of starting our oldest son into Soccer. Although it seems as though he is more interested in the spring Little League which is coming up. Over all we will let him choose what sports and activities he wants to participate in. Sports are big in our house.

I miss having just time to sit and not think about anything. :)

Sleeping till whenever on my day off, having a hot dinner and being able to HEAR the movie or TV show I am watching are some of the things I miss. Wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

I miss when me and my friends would be so bored and it would be 1 or 2 am in the morning and we would just go for a drive and get some drinks and come back and chill more with friends.
