He's All Grown Up At Three Years Old

3dc6a80a98ea11e2990322000a9f192c_6This weekend we were up in the mountains with family, staying in a large cabin that used to be a convent (I think). Each room had 3-4 beds in it and our little family stayed in one with three twin beds and one queen bed. Although we had brought Harrison’s blow up toddler mattress, he begged to sleep in a big bed. And since we didn’t have any kid of rails with us, he got the big double bed that was jammed up against a wall and then we made a barrier of pillows in case he rolled.

It’s pretty funny in hindsight – the toddler in the double bed, the parents in two separate twin beds!

Snuggled in with his Angry Birds blanket and lovies, he felt so mature. I mean, LOOK at that grin!

He felt so grown up the first morning after sleeping in the big bed that he marched his bowl of cereal right over to the “kids table” and away from his parents. Ooooh, my heart! My baby was growing up right before my eyes and while it ached to see him go, I was also busting with pride.

Looks like it’s time for us to dismantle the toddler bed and put up the twin bed in his room. I think he’s shown that he is ready.
