I Missed My Kids

I am home from BlogHer, and I couldn’t be happier!

I got in yesterday afternoon, but it wasn’t soon enough since I had been missing my kids. I mean, everyone needs a break once in a while — and I really enjoyed two days away. But, spending the whole weekend always puts life back into perspective.

As I climbed into bed Friday night preparing for an early morning on Saturday filled with education, seeing friends I have missed, and attending different events, I cuddled up in the bed with four pillows and no children.

The entire feeling was so strange. I am used to two pillows, at least one kid, and not being able to get comfortable without some kind of foreign limb in my back.

The fact that I was all alone in bed made me really feel alone.

Saturday kept me extremely busy, and I crashed … and slept like a rock that night. But the best was coming home on Sunday. Getting in the car with my three smiling kids waiting for me just absolutely melted my heart. When we got home yesterday afternoon, I had a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the kids, and my husband which made the entire weekend seem perfect in the end.

Being a mom absolutely rocks. Below are some pictures I took over the weekend, enjoy!
