Our family returned late last night from a wonderful vacation. We had a great time together just relaxing, going to the beach, spending time with extended family, and just basically taking a break from the grind of daily life.
And while it was a much needed vacation, since we’ve returned I’ve found myself feeling like a need a vacation from my vacation.
I mean, honestly, I didn’t really get much of a vacation from my main job – being a mom. I didn’t have to do as much cooking and cleaning and regular home management stuff as I usually do, but I still had to wake up early in the morning when my kids woke up, feed them, play with them, discipline them, put them to bed, and all of the other regular ins and outs of having kids.
So, even though we had help from family during our vacation, I still didn’t really get a break. And even though I love my kids and we had a great time, I still feel like I need a vacation from my kids!
It’s not that I don’t love my kids, and love spending time with them, but sometimes a mom just needs a break! What do you do to get the break you need from your most important job as a mother?
