Hello!! I’m Naomi and I’ve been hanging around Baby’s First Year for the last…year, with my now one-year-old: Fuzzball. I also have a three-year-old, so I guess this makes me a viable member of Toddler Times!
What exactly IS a toddler, anyway? Is a baby a toddler once he/she can walk? Then when does it end? Three? Four? Five? I mean, kids sizes are 2T-5T, etc., Doesn’t the “T” stand for toddler?
So anyway, I have one bona fide toddler who is an emerging “preschooler” (are preschoolers toddlers too? I’m so confused) and one baby who will be a toddler in a matter of weeks or maybe months, when he starts walking. Can’t wait to have two! Really!!
If you haven’t read any of my posts on Baby’s First Year, I’ll briefly catch you up on my life. My husband and I, Fuzzball (1) and Shnook (3) live most of the year in Los Angeles, but are finishing up a summer at our little ‘camp’ in Northern Vermont, where we just battled Irene. For the record, we won, but we lost some power and some trees.
We get back to L.A. on Labor Day. Shnook starts preschool on the day after Labor Day. We’re not big on down time in this family.
Seriously, we’ve been prepping him all summer and had some ‘playdates’ at the school before we left, so hopefully the transition period won’t be so hard. He was at daycare three times a week last year, but he was home with us all summer. Can you tell I’m a little nervous about this?
So I will be posting here for a while. I also still post on my personal blog. Check out this gut-wrenching story of Shnook’s first love this summer..
