Just Arrived: The Top Mommy Blogs of 2012

It’s that time of year, the most exciting that happens in the year of blogging until the fat man squeezes down the chimney with new iPads.  That’s right, it is the yearly release of Babble.com’s Top 100 Mommy Blogs!

This year brought a mix of previous and new faces – some of the tried and true’s, like Pioneer Woman and Dooce and last year’s #1 spot, Girls Gone Child.  But there are lots of new faces, like Baby Rabies and Dear Baby and The 818 (fantastic reads, go there now!).  This year’s number one spot went to Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, and I’m pretty sure it was a hearty unanimous nod that Lawson deserved the top spot between Beyonce the Metal Chicken and her New York Times best memior, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

As always, Babble Toddler is home to several of the winners –  #2 Casey (Moosh in Indy) and #46 Monica (The Girl Who) and  #54 Ilana Wiles (Mommy Shorts).

Casey would like to point out that “the #1 is a NYT best seller, #3 is listed as one of Time.com‘s best sites of the year and #2 spends her days in cat hair covered yoga pants.”

But Casey, ain’t nobody pulls on our heartstrings and makes us nicer people quite like you do and we love you for it.

As always, a list of 100 blogs cannot possibly capture the amount of creativity and heart that mothers around the world are writing, but it does a darn good job.

Did your favorite blogger make the list?  Who would you like to see make the list next year?
