Today is the last day of school and we’re not hopping on a plane to luxuriate in a sun-drenched, sand-crusted, all-inclusive, child-friendly escape from the polar vortex. It’s currently -38 degrees with the wind chill here in the boonies of Northern Canada, and I’m going to do everything I can to enjoy our March Break at home, with no child-care, because I’m crazy like that.
The first step? Get as much of my work done in advance, which means a killer schedule this week, so that I can roll around in glitter and what-not next week. Ah the benefits of working from home, for oneself, for the most part.
The next step? Keeping things loosey-goosey (did I really just type that?!) as far as scheduling goes with a bunch of ideas for activities already looked up, tested out, checked into and signed up for. I have an arsenal if you will, and I plan to use it. Perhaps you’d like for me to share it? I know from experience that kids love to be in on the planning action and my two are already counting down the days. I’ve decided to use the alphabet as a thematic way to involve Abby and Wyndham in some of the planning for next week, based loosely around their interests. Which — let’s be honest — probably represents a mass majority of toddlers’ interests.
