Matching PJs For The Win

matching monstersThere are just some things – some great pleasures in life as a parent that simply must be done.

Specifically during the toddler stage.

Things that one’s children wouldn’t let them get away with when they’re older. For example, putting them in matching pyjamas.

My friends? For some reason or another – this brings me great joy. There is nothing like freshly bathed, chubby little toddler siblings running around in matching pyjamas.

It truly is one of the best things ever. I’ll remember them like this for a long time – and maybe, just maybe – they’ll look back on this picture fondly too.

I purposefully put them in these pjs last weekend on Friday night and immediately got asked all sorts of questions by the eldest, my boy.

“What’s that, whatsallofdees? Who is dat? A Moster? But why?” Purple! Blue! Sqqquuueeeeee!!!!!”

He promptly went running down the hall after an imaginary fire-truck.

I explained who they were, I told them all I could about one of my favourite movies, Monsters Inc. Telling your kids about a movie isn’t the same as watching one with them, so.

I built it up. Got them excited for our early morning movie watching and pancake eating. They went to bed without a peep I tell you. This has always been a sure-fire way to get them to go to bed easy, by the way – in case you’re looking for some random tips.

Just talk about the fun stuff that you have planned for them the next morning, or the delicious breakfast you are going to make them and they’ll likely get a far-off, dreamy-glazed look in their eyes and look at you like you are the best person ever.

Which, in their world – is because you are.

But I digress.

After watching Monsters Inc., that lovely Saturday morning – in their matching pjs, it’s all we can do to keep those suckers constantly washed and on the ready for their request to be worn.

Every. Single. Day.

As well as watch Monsters Inc.

Every. Single. Day.

Karma. She got me. It’s like I’m being paid back for something that my kids haven’t even grown up enough to be embarrassed or resent me for yet! Yeesh!

What about you? Do you put your kids in matching ensembles or just stick to matching pj’s like me?
