So last week I confessed to you guys that I’m hooked on the new Instagram video feature. And this week, I’m admitting to another one of my bizarre mom quirks. I’m addicted to looking for things on Craigslist. The funny thing is, I rarely buy anything—like almost never. But I search and hunt and look for hours on end. It’s such a waste of time!
I have a painfully obnoxious need to obsess over purchase and always make sure I’m getting the best deal. I think that I get it from my grandmother. I spent way more time researching and bargain hunting than is actually worth any price savings, and yet knowing this, I still can’t help myself.
The thing is—and I think we can all agree—kids are expensive. Of course we don’t need all of these things, and I’m totally unwilling to fork over full price for most things kid-related when so much is available used or second-hand. But there are a lot of “wants” (as opposed to needs) that I know Cullen would have so much fun with, and if I can find them for a good deal and take them off someone’s hands then why not?
My current searches include: a backyard playhouse, some sort of child’s picnic table, an outdoor toddler swing, and any sort of ride on toys. Can you tell it’s summer time? I’m not worried about storage or space, since we have a nice yard at our new house and a big garage to store things in.
