I think it used to fall on mine.
But my child drinks chocolate milk on the regular. “On the regular” meaning that 9 times out of 10, if there’s milk in his sippy cup, there’s also chocolate in it. He asks for it in the morning, he asks for it when he wakes up from nap, and sometimes at night, he gets it as a treat for dinner.
Should I be worried about his sugar intake?
I don’t think so. We rarely serve juice in our house – mostly because Harrison doesn’t care for juice. We don’t eat dessert regularly. So that knocks out a lot of sugar from his diet that most kids his age consume. Juice can contain 20g of sugar, while Horizon’s Organic Chocolate milk (what we serve at home) contains 22g of sugar per serving. A little more sugar? Sure, but Harrison is getting a ton of other bonuses with that sugar, including calcium and DHA.
