Brought to you by

Oh Henry

By Monica Bielanko |

The Heartbreak Kid

I always dreamed about having a little boy.

A dream, a hope, a heartbeat, a barely decipherable sonogram, a flutter, a kick… And now here you are.

I can hardly believe it.

Can you imagine waiting for years and years to meet someone you know is waiting in the wings? But I did it. I waited and waited, kept my fingers crossed and then, like magic, you came to us to be with our family.

You have exceeded every, single dream I had about you.

Yes, you are my sweet, little baby who grins at me and already tries to talk but you’re so much more. You are a life waiting to happen.

I can hardly comprehend the life you’re about to lead.

I think about you at every stage. What will Henry be like at two? And four? What about twelve? And eighteen? I will be there every step of the way because you, son, are my life. Forever.

Mother’s Day isn’t about me, it’s about you, because you made me Mom. Thank you. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me.

i always knew that my first-born was going to be a boy, not sure why, but i felt that way since i can remember… when i was pregnant – my hubby and i would talk about names and never even considered girl ones (and this was before we knew what i was having)… :)

i do love my baby boy, but would welcome a girl as baby #2… :)

My absolute favorite kind of human being is a five year old boy. Check out the Harlan Ellison story, Jeffty is Five. I read the story almost 20 years ago (shortly before my boy turned 5) and it has stayed with me ever since.

So handsome! I was seriously whatever about having a boy, but I had no idea. Sonny is 10 months today and I now completely understand how crazy mothers can be for their sons. Like I will be devastated at his wedding and be an awful mother in law. He’s always gonna be my baby.
