Readers Respond: 10 Annoying Comments Breastfeeding Moms Of Toddlers Get

Disapproving Cabbage Patch Kid

Joycelyn Nella Disapproves Of Extended Breastfeeding

Being a breastfeeding mom of a toddler can be kind of dicey here in the United States, where less than 24 percent of women are still breastfeeding at 1 year, according to the CDC. A lot of people don’t understand why someone would nurse a child after the age of 1, which is why I wrote a post about my desire to avoid publicly feeding my 18-month-old.

I’ve gotten a lot of comments, both well-meaning and downright rude, from friends, relatives and complete strangers.

As it turns out, so have a lot of my friends and readers! Here are some shared by my childhood Cabbage Patch Kid — Joycelyn Nella.

Joycelyn has lots of opinions about breastfeeding toddlers, it seems. Maybe she’s just jealous that she never had the boob.
