Sleeping With a Toddler is Like…

Sharing your bed with a toddler!

If your house is anything like mine, you frequently have a toddler in your bed.

Whether it is nap time, bed time… or in the middle of the night. One, two or all the kids end up curling up in our bed and we are losing room. Recently when one of our boys headed to Grandma’s house for a sleep over she complained about how much he travels in his sleep.  Yup! Like he is on a mission to kick you out of your own bed!

Last week I thought I would see what my readers thought about sleeping with toddlers…

I proposed the question, sleeping with a toddler is like…  and let everyone fill in the blank, and like always the readers did not disappoint!

I put in a couple of my own, because each of my children have been very different when it came to sharing a bed with them. They all have their own quirks for kicking me out of my own bed and making me want to sleep in a toddler bed or on the couch in the middle of the night.

    Kick to the ribs!
Head to the kidney at three in the morning. Sound familiar? This is what it is like sleeping with any of my kids. An Olympic event at the very least!

When Kim W. said this I had myself a good laugh, because there really are a lot of similarities between the two!
Although I find it more fun to get beat up while dancing in a mosh pit than while trying to sleep!

Being a Part of a Fight Club... And You Can't Hit Back!
Sleeping with a toddler is like being a part of a fight club and not being able to hit back at all! Pretty accurate if you ask me.
Thanks to Christina G for that creative and spot on analogy!

Another good one submitted by Helen N.
I can certainly see trying to find a way for everyone to fit as more, and more kids start to invade.
I wish they would stay put once they got into that one position though!

Because you don't want to be ANYWHERE those legs when they begin to kick!
I totally agree with Coralyn who was the lucky mom to submit this one!

Sleeping with a toddler is love. Cyndie tried to sum it up in words the best she can, but there are no words for the closeness and bond with your kiddo when you are all cuddled up in bed together!

    Not Sleeping At All!
Trying to sleep with a toddler is a lost cause if you are a light sleeper!
Danielle H. said sleeping with her toddler is like not sleeping at all. YAWN!
