Sugar-Free Halloween: Introducing Wyndham The Little Pastry Chef


The Muffin KingI’ve been working with this eager, quick to learn new sidekick in the kitchen lately. My son. He especially takes an interest when I’m baking treats. Something of which, I’ve been encouraging and having an actual good time doing with him. Perhaps he’s inherited it (his knack for mixing and decorating), or maybe he’s just intent on enjoying the fruits of his labour and takes it seriously.

Either way, my little guy is a joy to work and play with in the kitchen. He stands on a chair next to me and carefully mixes ingredients with an agile, smooth grace beyond his years. He doesn’t always stick around for the whole process, but when he’s in, he’s in. Ever so careful and delicate about it, I know this isn’t always the way with letting a toddler help out in the kitchen…

What can I say? I’m a little pastry chef breeder. Trust me. He makes up with the wildness in leaps and bounds in many other ways. Our most recent culinary achievement is that of some sugar free, pumpkin muffin goodness. Surprisingly easy with the capability of turning into maple cream cheese icing topped cupcakes with a few swoops of a wooden spoon. You decide.
