Hi guys! Huck here with another super exciting tip for feeding yo toddlers! After the jump!
Here’s a really cool trick Mom just figured out that’s helped make meal time go more smoothly:
Generally, during a meal, stray food bits will always end up in three locations. All over the tray (where she puts it to begin with), all over the floor when I get bored, and then all up in my hair when I get really really bored. See? Three places. But, if Mom puts my food on a little plate first, then sets the plate on top of my tray, then stray food will only end up on the plate, on the tray, and then either on my hair or on the floor but not both. The tray and the dish are the easy parts to clean. The floor and my hair? Different story.
Also, by handing me a toddler utensil to practice with, the first little bit of my boredom won’t even get messy at all! It’s so cool! (I’m a super slow eater, so I tend to get bored in the middle of eating about three times per meal, and then Mom has to remind me what I’m doing there. You know, food just isn’t that exciting to me yet. But I’m getting there!)
Mom told Dad about this trick we discovered and Dad said, “That’s how I’ve always done it!” And Mom went, “Oh.”
Hope you enjoyed this fancy little trick! More plates and utensils! Less surfaces for cleaning up! Maybe it’s not so fancy! You never know!
